Job Description

Provide superior customer service and communication to clients, patients, staff, and referring veterinarians. The Communications Specialist must demonstrate excellent judgment and decision‑making skills in triaging client calls, making appointments with clinical specialists, and/or determining the appropriate action and response required for that particular call. Kindness and care for animals and respect for the client is a cornerstone of this team‑focused department and organization. Key Qualifications Knowledge of medical terminology (preferred) Minimum 1–2 years veterinary medical office experience (required) Computer skills a must: Microsoft Office/Outlook, Instinct EMR system, Alcatel‑Lucent Phone system Speed typing skills a must (40+wpm) Ability to provide consistent and exceptional customer service in a fast‑paced and demanding environment Pleasant speaking voice Reliable internet source is required Duties and Responsibilities Schedule appointments for a variety of Specialty Services in Instinct EMR Triage urgent calls Process referral calls from outside veterinarians and clients Answer phones and direct calls appropriately Respond to internal/external clients in a respectful, friendly & thorough manner Update clients with status reports and patient information Maintain a detail‑oriented environment while multitasking Schedule and Shift Sunday and Monday 8 am–4 pm Tuesday 10 am–6 pm Friday and Saturday 12 pm–8 pm Wednesday and Thursday Off Remote Position – Eligible States New Jersey Connecticut Florida Maryland Georgia Illinois Massachusetts Benefits Competitive salary Generous sign‑on bonus $1,000 Generous paid time off 50% discount on veterinary care 403(b) matching Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage Eligibility for The Public Loan Service Forgiveness Program as we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit employer Pay Range: $18 USD–$23 USD Company Overview Excellence In Veterinary Medicine Since 1910.
