Job Description

Job Title: House Manager

Location: Rockville Centre, NY (11570)

Employment Type: Part-Time, 12–15 hours/week (12 hours/week guaranteed); W2 Position

Schedule: M-Th, 3 hours/day with preference for afternoon availability

Compensation: $30-$35/hour, based on experience

Start Date: ASAP

About Our Family

We are a busy family of three, seeking a trustworthy, reliable, and proactive individual to help manage the flow of our home and ensure everything runs smoothly from day to day. Our schedule can get hectic, so we need someone who can take charge of key household responsibilities, including a daily reset, , laundry, light cleaning, meal prep, and general upkeep--bonus if you have an eye for organization! Your role will be crucial in helping us transition seamlessly from one day to the next, providing the support we need to keep the house in order and everyone on track.

We value open communication and are looking for someone who can serve as a trusted partner in managing our home and supporting our family's needs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling a variety of tasks, while also taking initiative, anticipating what needs to be done, and staying on top of it all.

Key Responsibilities:

Household Management & Organization

  • Daily resets and prep home for 2x monthly cleaners
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
  • Create and maintain household organization systems

Inventory & Errands

  • Manage running household supply lists (pantry/fridge/household supplies)
  • Returns and dry cleaning
  • Mail and package handling
  • Breakdown boxes

Laundry & Linen Care

  • Wash/fold/organize laundry
  • Ironing/steaming and special garment care
  • Maintain tidy and well stocked laundry areas

Meal Planning & Prep

  • Prep and pack school lunches/snacks 4x/week
  • Plan and prep healthy meals/snacks for the family 3-4x/week
  • Manage grocery shopping list
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance

Family Support & Child Assistance

  • Prep backpacks/clothing/snacks
  • Occasional daycare pick-ups
  • Light supervision/back-up childcare as needed

Deep Cleaning & Special Projects

  • Occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards)
  • Refresh kitchen
  • Clean humidifiers
  • Organizational projects (toys, gear, closets)

Vendor & Property Oversight

  • Occasionally oversee cleaners/contractors/landscapers
  • Research/coordinate repairs and quotes
  • Manage outdoor spaces (maintain outdoor patio)

Administrative & Personal Assistant Support

  • Awareness of household schedules
  • Receipt/budget tracking for expenses incurred as House Manager
