CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports they need to thrive. We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach almost 80,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.
HomeBase provides case management and essential services to at-risk individuals and families to prevent homelessness. Individuals and families receive services that will help overcome problems with public benefits, housing, education, health care and other issues that could impede their ability to maintain stable households.
The Quality Assurance Specialist conducts regular audits of client case files (both electronic and physical copy) to ensure compliance with program policies, procedures, funding requirements, and relevant regulations. They evaluate the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of client intake documentation, assessments, service plans, progress notes, closing summaries, and other required forms. They verify that eligibility criteria for the homelessness prevention program have been correctly applied and documented. The Quality Assurance Specialist assesses the quality and appropriateness of services provided, as evidenced in case notes and service plans, ensuring they align with client needs and program goals. They review documentation related to financial assistance, ensuring proper authorization, disbursement, and tracking of funds. They identify and document instances of non-compliance, errors, inconsistencies, or areas needing improvement within case records. They prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, highlighting trends, and providing specific recommendations for corrective action. They communicate audit findings to management in writing in a clear and constructive manner. They track and follow up on the implementation of corrective action plans to ensure deficiencies are addressed. They participate in the development and revision of program policies, procedures, and forms to enhance documentation quality and compliance. They maintain a thorough understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in homelessness prevention and case management. They maintain confidentiality of client information in accordance with privacy regulations and program policies. They utilize data management systems and software to track audit activities and generate reports. They contribute to the development and monitoring of quality assurance indicators and performance metrics. They prescreen clients for eligibility, review and complete client enrollment. They assist clients in completing applications for benefits and entitlements, and process applications on clients' behalf (e.g., Access HRA, Housing Connect, DRIE, SCRIE). They close cases as per HomeBase procedure. They perform other duties as assigned.
